RYA Courses

The RYA Powerboat scheme offers individuals the chance to learn and hone their skills on small boats, generally under 25 foot. Individuals can begin with basic seamanship skills and continue through the scheme all the way to Instructor.

There are both Sea based and Shore based courses. Naturally all our water-based courses are conducted in the sea giving you a Sea rather than an Inland qualification.

Course Terms and Conditions:

  1. All course students must have a reasonable level of fitness (for example you must be able to swim a minimum of 4 lengths of a 25 metre pool unaided).
  2. You will be asked to sign a self-certified medical statement before we begin any training.
  3. A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the course fee must be paid at time of booking.
  4. Balance of the course fees is due on completion of the course
  5. Cancellation by student. If the student cancels the course less than 2 weeks before the start of the course, full payment will be required.
  6. In the event of cancellation by Fathom and Blues Ltd the full course fees (if paid) and deposit will be refunded.
